Aperitif wines: which one to choose?
A wine aperitif can be a great choice to start a meal or to spend time with friends, so it is important to choose a wine that suits the food that will be served and the occasion. In general, for aperitifs, it is best to choose light, fresh wines such as sparkling wine, Prosecco, Franciacorta, Moscato d’Asti, Lambrusco, a dry white wine such as a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. A sparkling rosé wine such as a Lambrusco Rosato can also be a good choice.
What to serve with wine during an aperitif
Hors d’oeuvres, cheeses, cured meats, bruschetta, crostini, olives, dried fruits, and other delicacies can be served to accompany the aperitif. Regarding the amount of wine to serve, it is important to consider the number of guests and the duration of the event. In general, for an aperitif of an hour or more, a quarter to half a glass of wine per person can be served.
